When she was five years old, she already took part of a professional jazz troupe.
Alexa Havins discovered her acting abilities through renowned acting coach Jean Fowler. It was Fowler who helped her develop her talent, the way her mentor did with the likes of Jennie Garth of Beverly Hills: 90210 and Amy Davidson of 8 Simple Rules For Dating My Teenage Daughter.

She first played bit parts on TV and film, and because of increasing offers, she had to move to Los Angeles wherein she bagged lead roles in four movies and numerous guest appearances on TV, among of which are Reno 911 and Lifetime Television’s Secret Lives. Coincidentally, she was also called Babe by her mom when she was a little kid.
While being in All My Children, Alexa Havins was also busy doing feature films including Joe Killionaire, a horror-comedy by Sean Morton, Tracy Michele Tab’s romantic comedy First Kiss, Ash Christian’s Fat Girls, and Travis Betz’s Joshua.
